a progressive motorcycle enthusiast organization
As I reflect on Dr. King's legacy, I am especially grateful for the opportunity to connect with you through motorcycling and from it connect with Dr. King's legacy through our work.
The year 2008 was a monumental year in more ways than one. Together we raised $100,000 for the King Memorial Foundation. In 2009, contacting the King family in Atlanta made it possible for us to culminate our Ride for CHANGE Ride for HOPE event at the King Center for Non Violent Social Change. To lay a wreath, make a presentation and actually touch Dr. King's crypt to say thank you was both an emotional, overwhelming and unforgettable experience. Back then, Dr. King's nephew Isaac Farris, Jr. was the president and CEO of the King Center. He said in a meeting preceding our event that their focus was promoting a deeper understanding of Dr. King's teachings. This is where our partnership will be cemented. Soon after this video was released. Farris sent me a box of Dr. King's recordings and books. The last book Dr. King wrote, "Where Do We Go From Here?" is a must read. The blueprint to move us forward is in that book.
Know that many of the things we do are directly related to Dr. King's teachings.
Where do we go from here? Develop and grow World of Soul Motorcyclist Association by way of Riders United to Serve Humanity. Consider the possibilities at www.ridersunited.org. It's an opportunity to leverage our numbers for our benefit. Do the work and watch us grow to another level of operation and support toward your unique riding experience with an impact in the communities from which you live and serve.
Nobody can do this for us.
Thank you Dr. King.
